Let’s be honest: December has a reputation.
It’s the month where schedules explode, treats multiply, routines fall apart, and we all quietly promise ourselves we’ll “start fresh in January.”

But… what if we didn’t have to wait?

What if December didn’t have to be a wellness wipeout at all?

Hear me out. I’m not suggesting a sugar-free, joy-free, fun-free month. I’m not here to take away the peppermint bark or the hot toddies.

I’m simply offering a different perspective:

December can actually feel good. Because wellness isn’t about perfection. It’s about making small choices that support how you want to feel, even during the busiest season of the year.

Here are a few realistic shifts that can keep you feeling energized and grounded this month:

✦ 1. Add before you subtract.
More water, more protein, more color on your plate, more sleep when you can get it.

✦ 2. Keep a couple of non-negotiables.
Not 20. Not 12. Just two or three habits that help you stay steady.
A walk. A supplement. A morning routine. A big glass of water before coffee. Simple is sustainable.

✦ 3. Choose the treats that are worth it.
Not all Christmas goodies are created equal. If you’re going to enjoy something, make sure it sparks joy—not regret.

✦ 4. Check in with yourself.
“How do I want to feel tomorrow morning?” That one question can shift everything.

✦ 5. Practice the art of the graceful pause.
Slow your pace, even for a moment.
A deep breath in the car. A stretch before bed.
Little resets go a long way.

December doesn’t have to be a runaway train. It can be a season where you stay connected to yourself, even while celebrating everyone and everything else.

And the best part?
In January you will give December yourself a standing ovation.
