Spring Cleaning for Your Garden
Category:This time of year is so exciting for me. I love getting the gardens ready to plant – even the weed-pulling part. We have some amazing resources here in the Pacific NW for natural gardening – online classes, in person classes, Facebook groups. Everyone is always learning and sharing what and when to plant for a great garden of either flowers or veggies. It makes growing your own plants so much easier when you use other people’s knowledge and learn from their mistakes.
Buying new soil, compost, fertilizers, and of course seeds are my first steps. Then it’s time to wash out old plant pots, potting areas, and garden tools. What do you use for that?
My gardens and containers are as chemical free as I can make them – no weed-killers, insecticides, GMO seeds, or harsh cleaning supplies for me. I love my Shaklee Basic H2. It’s super safe and super concentrated – and it makes my garden tools sparkle, at least until they get used for the first time. It also works great on the patio furniture and I don’t worry about it getting into the soil or running down the driveway.
Lettuce, spinach, peas and herbs are planted. Can’t wait for a fresh, delicious, homegrown salad! Now if I could only get rid of those pesty “shot” weeds…
